A local boy, promising at French skiing
Corentin Girard is deeply fixed locally with 3 out of 4 grandparents at 100% villarins.
Corentin grew up at La Pierre, a little hamlet, at the foot of the slopes in the ski resort Saint Colomban des Villards, in Savoy. So naturally this local boy takes his first license at the mountaineering club at 6 years old. His passion of skiing, and his remarkable qualities makes him quickly progress and wins his first podiums.
At 11, Corentin starts highschool in the ski-study program. He reaches the best skiers of Maurienne clubs and becomes the leader.
At 15, our young villarin athlete is selected at the France ski Pole located at Alberville because he's in the fifth bests skiers of his generation in 2017. Two years later, he joins the Hope Pole in Moutiers, with two other alpin skiers of his generation.
The high level skier corroborates his qualities thanks to his first season full of prowess on the circuit of the International Ski Federation, circuit before the European Cup and the World Wide Cup. He stands out in the giant slalom in Prali (Italie) and also in Argentina in August 2019.
But due to an inflammatory problem on the right anckle, his second international season is disrupted. He's obligated to stop the races and goes through a surgical intervention.
The training resumption takes place on th ski carpet indoor in Courchevel in October 2020. Then the skier takes off for a 15-day course in Kapdälis (Sweden). The lost feelings comeback to the delight of Corentin who plays the 28 December 2020 his first FIS slalom of the season in Saint-Jean-d'Aulps.
Corentin Girard doesn't give up, in the wake of champions, whose trials of life have contributed to the successes.
The great adventure continues...
